Armstrong was photographed being awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Science, for his contributions to aeronautical engineering, for his courage as an explorer and for his inspiration to mankind. This was Armstrong's first Honorary Doctorate from an American University. The photographer, a journalism major at Drake at the time, created two sets of four, each a different image and mailed both sets to Armstrong as a gift. The photographer indicated in a typed letter to Mr. Armstrong that one set was for him to keep and requested that Mr. Armstrong return the second set to him with each autographed. Mr. Armstrong obliged by signing and returning the photos and they have remained in the photographers possession until now. The photo measures 11 inches x 14 inches, is mounted to matboard and measures 16 inches x 20 inches total. Mr. Armstrong has signed and inscribed 'Neil Armstrong Apollo 11' in black pen lower right of matboard. Signature appears to be in EX+/NrMt condition. Tear is 2.5-in. with 0.5-in. into the top of the image, but is barely visible in the image. Otherwise, print is in good condition with minor foxing. Unframed.

The sculptures alone measure 63.5 in. x 18.5 in. x 7.5 in. and 63.5 x 15.5 in. x 8.5 in., stand on custom made wood bases to stand over 74 inches tall in total. They are signed Aktien-Gessellschaft Glandenbeck foundry in Berlin, Hermann Gladenbeck. They are in working order, one or two of the glass shades may be a replacement. Also, one of the glass shades has damage. Beautiful, old patina and in excellent condition overall. Formerly from a Bay Area estate, these were purchased at Butterfield and Butterfield Second Session-Tuesday, October 7, 1975. Neil Armstrong large signed mounted photo. This photo was taken at Drake University's Ninety-First Annual Commencement, May 14, 1972. Armstrong was photographed being awarded an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Science, for his contributions to aeronautical engineering, for his courage as an explorer and for his inspiration to mankind. This was Armstrong's first Honorary Doctorate from an American University. The photographer, a journalism major at Drake at the time, created two sets of four, each a different image and mailed both sets to Armstrong as a gift. The photographer indicated in a typed letter to Mr. Armstrong that one set was for him to keep and requested that Mr. Armstrong return the second set to him with each autographed. Mr. Armstrong obliged by signing and returning the photos and they have remained in the photographers possession until now. The photo measures 11 inches x 14 inches, is mounted to matboard and measures 16 inches x 20 inches total. Mr. Armstrong has signed and inscribed 'Neil Armstrong Apollo 11' in black pen lower right of matboard. Signature appears to be in EX+/NrMt condition. Photograph is in Near Mint condition, matboard has a very light stain lower left and slight rippling along base below signature. Samuel Goldwyn Gold Record Sales Award for 'Porgy and Bess' Commemorating Sales of Over $1,000,000 dollars of the Columbia Long Playing Record 'Porgy and Bess'. This gold record measures 12.875. in. in diameter. Placed in recessed circle with plexiglass cover. Total size 22 in. x 16.5 in. Solid wood plaque has splits and would benefit from restoration or refinishing. The plexiglass cover is screwed over record that is loose in recessed circle. The plexiglass has some light scratches and scuffs. Record appears to be unaffected by the surface scratches of plexiglass and appears to be in excellent, original condition.

The figure and film reel, composed of gold-plated britannium measures approximately 10 inches tall and the total height is 11.75 inches. The pedestal's diameter measures 5.25 inches. It contains a special presentation page in front reading "Personal Copy for Robert Osborne". Published by ECE in association with the Academy®, and containing 294 non-paginated pages. Measures 11.75" x 9.75" x 1.25". Mr. Osborne's passion, enthusiasm and appreciation of film and it's stars is shown within this one-of-a-kind book containing no fewer than 383 signatures! When possible, he would have the Oscar® winning Actor and Actress, and Supporting Actor and Actress (and often still other award winners) sign the pages of their featured chapter. For other chapters Mr. Osborne gathered signatures of Oscar® nominees in every role of film making, presumably carrying this book to countless events. Most interior pages are in EX/EX+ condition with some markings or small stains along fore edge, head and tail. Autographs grade Near Mint/Mint to Gem Mint condition—on pages that rarely saw the light of day. Due to its prolific event attendance, the hardcover book has wear at corners of covers and at edges of spine. Hermann Gladenbeck (1827 - 1918) Pair of Finely Cast Bronze Figural Torchières standing over 6 feet tall. The sculptures alone measure 63.5 in. x 18.5 in. x 7.5 in. and 63.5 x 15.5 in. x 8.5 in., stand on custom made wood bases to stand over 74 inches tall in total. They are signed Aktien-Gessellschaft Glandenbeck foundry in Berlin, Hermann Gladenbeck. They are in working order, one or two of the glass shades may be a replacement. Also, one of the glass shades has damage. Beautiful, old patina and in excellent condition overall. Formerly from a Bay Area estate, these were purchased at Butterfield and Butterfield Second Session-Tuesday, October 7, 1975. An exceptional pair of large, solid and heavy metal figural dragon andirons. There is nut and a threaded hole on the backs indicating that these are andirons in my opinion. If andirons as believed they are missing the billet bars. These large, heavy and solid figures are bronze or other metal. They each measure 44 inches x 17 inches x 18 inches. Measures 27.75 in. 41.75 in. There is craquelure throughout but no paint loss or loose paint. This painting has been professionally restored including a repair between the banner and flag. Also, this painting has been coated as part of the restoration to prevent any more craquelure or flaking. The repair appears to be inpainting.

Written in Latin by Hartmann Schedel, with a version in German translation by Georg Alt, it appeared in 1493. Christy Mathewson large color lithographic Tuxedo Tobacco store display or shipping box, circa 1910. This large box measures 15 in. x 11 in. x 3.5 in. and presumably housed numerous smaller packages of tobacco. Considered one of the most desirable and rarest pieces of baseball advertising extant. This box retains exceptional color and appears to be fully intact, but does have creases, small holes and small tears. That being said, we do believe this to be the finest example to come to auction. Inside of helmet there are two green Dymo tape strips, one reading "Largent" and other "80". This helmet has Largent's late career facemask. Bumper and earpads show slight wear, helmet has only a couple of very light scuffs or scratches. This helmet is from the estate collection of Bill Clark, owner of Moss Bay Locksmith, Inc., Kirkland, Washington. Mr. Clark was the locksmith on call to the Seattle Seahawks for many years. Handsome and early baseball engraved silver plate pint mug by Lucius Hart Manufacturing Co., New York City, New York. Likely created 1850-1871 per company history. Lucius Hart (New York City, N.Y. 1803-1871) was part of Boardman & Hart until 1850 when that entity closed. This engraved silver plate baseball pint mug is stamped on base. Decorations include a logo containing crossed bats, a lemon peel baseball, an 1850's style cap and "B.B.C." at base of logo. Measures 5" x 5" x 3 3/8". 1860 Live Oak Polka Sheet Music. First Baseball sheet music and from what we can find, the finest of only a handful known to exist. The 1860 Live Oak Polka sheet music is the earliest and most excitingly designed of all color baseball sheet music. It is also recognized as one of the most significant of all nineteenth-century baseball display pieces and represents the first baseball chromolithographic art print. The song is dedicated to the Live Oak Base Ball Club of Rochester, New York. The cover depicts a baseball game-in-progress with a patriotic motif of an American flag draped across the top, and tremendous background detail. There are very few baseball-related lithographic art pieces dating from the era of the Civil War. This is one of the handful of examples of this scarce piece. Measures 13.1875 in. x 10 in. x 1.375 and is still housed in the volume it was bound into during the Civil War-era. The 1860 Live Oak Polka sheet alone grades G-VG/Vg with slight toning in margins. Binding is tight. Most pages in this almost 1.5 in. thick bound hardcover are in good to G-VG condition. Provenance: Mark Rucker Collection.
