"The Newe Testament of Our Lord Jesus Christ Translated Out of the Greeke By Theod Beza Whereunto are Adioyned Large Expositions of the Phrases and Hard Places, By the Author and Others: Together with a Table or Concordance Containing the Principall Wordes and matters comprehended herein." Imprinted at London by The Deputies of Christopher Barker, Printer to the Queenes most excellent Maiestie, 1596. Brown marbled boards with banded calf spine. Cover is loose from the front, and front two inside covers are loose, but otherwise intact. Pages are browned, but otherwise very readable. Hand written "owner" information on title page difficult to read but name is legible - Isaac Cartier (no information regarding his identity). All pages for the New Testament appear to be present, as are all the pages in the Concordance at the end. The only 2 plates are on the title page, and the page just prior to the Gospel of Matthew is a picture and description of the Holy Lands. 7.5" x 9.25". . Horologiographia. The Art of Dialling: Teaching, an Easie and Perfect Way to Make All Kinds of Dials Upon Any Plaine Plate Howsoeuer Placed; by Thomas Fale. Imprinted by Felix Kyngston, London, 1626, 2nd Edition. An important work on sun dials, with attractive woodcut diagrams of dials by Jodocus Hondius. This is Fale's only known publication. "The table of sines which it contains is probably the earliest specimen of a trigonometrical table printed in England" - DNB. Sixty-one pages of text, with 30 pages for the table of sines. Original brown hardcover, front separated from the spine, but back cover is still attached; wear along edges, but in acceptable condition for its age. Title page is soiled, and it appears that tape was stuck to it at one point. Internal pages browned, but readable. Bottom corners of last 40-ish pages stained. 5-3/4" x 7-1/4". Euclides Restitutus Denuo Limatus, Sive Prisca Geometriæ Elementa by Giovanni Alfonso Borelli. Published by Mascardi, Roma, 1679, Third Edition. Dark brown hardcover, securely attached but back cover starting to loosen. Banded spine, with label in red/gold still readable. Cover is spotted but in otherwise good condition. Two owner plates on inside front cover/frontis pages, handwritten notes on frontis page, front and back. Title page in good condition. Internal pages brown and spotted in places but very readable. It appears as though pages were removed between pages 388-389, but none of the number 414 pages of text are missing. Eight-fold-out charts/diagrams at the end of the book. This is the last realized edition printed when author was still alive. Provenance: Estate of Russell Johanson, Ravenna Rare Books, Seattle, Washington.

God's Terrible Voice in the City & A Sermon Preached at the Funeral of Mr. Abraham Janeway by Thomas Vincent. Printed for George Calvert, 1667. Two volumes bound together, sermons starts on page 217. All pages of "God's Terrible Voice" present, browned but otherwise in fair to good condition and readable. The final page(s) of the sermon has a repair (see pictures) and a portion is unreadable. Light brown leather hardcover with darker browning on the edges, red panel on spine with title in good condition, binding is secure - possibly in the past. Inside front cover contains a bookplate from a previous owner. 4-1/4" x 6-1/2". Provenance: Estate of Russell Johanson, Ravenna Rare Books, Seattle, Washington.

Publii Virgilii Maronis: Bucolica, Georgica, et Aeneis. Ex editione Petri Burmanni by Vergilius Maro, Publius, Latin. Published by Andreas Foulis, Glasgow, 1778. Both volumes in brown hard cover with gold gilt edge on front and back. Banded spine with red background for title, and green for volume all printed in gold gilt. Inside pages of both volumes on cream paper with large print and very readable. Internal pages of both volumes firmly attached to the spine. Green ribbon book mark still attached in both volumes. Vol. 1 covers are worn at the corners; bottom from starting to tear from spine; inside frontispiece starting to separate at lower at spine with discoloring at both top and bottom; back page still attached at the spine but discolored along spine. Vol. 2 front cover has experienced some warping; front is worn at corners and is beginning to separate from spine along the bottom front cover; back cover also starting to separate from spine along the bottom and appears to have minor water damage along the spine from middle to bottom; some water damage on inside pages in the back but still very readable; inside frontispiece and back page still firmly attached to the spine but contains minor discoloration. Vol. 1, 277 pages; Vol. 2, 307 pages, also contains a list of subscribers for whom this edition was published. Both 9-3/4" x 14-1/2".
